Friday/Saturday Night Live is a series of beautiful, intimate performances from some of the most exciting talent Cape Town and South Africa has to offer, hosted at the KAYA Café. Friday Night Live is an event for performers to take in their own direction, creating an environment for audiences to engage deeply with the music, the meaning, and the people behind it all.

Alex Biaya, who is also known professionally as L’X, is a dynamic and multifaceted artist hailing from Cape Town, and born out of the DRC. With roots deeply entrenched in the vibrant rhythms of Africa and the soulful melodies of contemporary R&B, L’X effortlessly blends cultural influences to create a sound that is uniquely his own.

From an early age, music has been both a passion and a refuge for L’X. Drawing inspiration from a diverse range of musical genres and experiences, he weaves together introspective lyrics with infectious beats to craft songs that resonate with listeners on a profound level.  His music is a reflection of his personal experiences, addressing themes of love, resilience, and self-discovery with honesty and vulnerability.
