ABOUT

What must people in Pringle Bay know about living with snakes and baboons?

Francois van Zyl, a University of Stellenbosch qualified Zoologist, speaks to Pringle Proms about these fascinating animals on Saturday, August 2 at 12 noon.

Since 2003 Francois has been well known in the Overstrand as the man to call to have a snake removed or for the production of essential anti-venom. Recently he joined the expert’s team of baboon management and observation in Pringle Bay for KVET. KVET (Kogelberg Villages Environmental Trustees), is a non-profit organisation focused on protecting baboons and promoting peaceful coexistence between humans and wildlife in the Kogelberg area through education, advocacy, and community engagement.

The Pringle Proms’ Brian Berkman will lead a Compelling Conversation with Francois following an inclusive buffet lunch. After their 45-minute conversation Francois will take questions from the audience.

Francois has for many years and as part of his Slithering Fynbos educational outreach brought his own guests to events so don’t be surprised if you meet some of his slithering and crawling friends too.

The cost of the session is R400 per person including lunch and beverages. Bookings are only available via Quicket.
