Presenter:With over 18 years of experience in the IT Industry, Glenn Morris is truly one of the most respected MVP's, Microsoft Certified Trainers and Consultants in Australia.
A Mathematics graduate turned IT Wrangler, Glenn quickly immersed himself in the world of code while also looking 'beyond the code' at an area that he then termed "Intelligent Business". Combining the code with the business processes he took a role Lecturing at the London School of Accounting and Management where he taught Programming, Performance Analytics and Business Intelligence. He subsequently moved into the Data Science which he saw as his 'sweet spot' and this has been what has underpinned his IT life since.
Glenn lives on the beautiful Gold Coast of Australia.
The A to Z of BI
This SQLSaturday Pre-Conference Day will discuss, demo and build out a number of scenarios that deal with data harvesting, data wrangling, data visualization and databases. Primarily through the lenses of the Microsoft Data Platform we will discuss SQL Server 2016/SQL Server 2017, The Azure Data Tools, Big Data, Azure Functions, Artificial Intelligence and Power BI with a view to how it applies to business and how you can get your business using some of the amazing capabilities that are available to assist you in making sense of and being proactive with data. Underpinned by the fact that, ultimately, most businesses want good, accurate reporting and insights we will approach this need from a number of angles using the different technologies available to us.
The world is changing at a pace never seen before and while we all want “Business Intelligence” our goal should be the “Intelligent Business” that uses the capabilities and tools available to us to make better use of our data and the data available to us through other channels.
