Meet your facilitator:
Muriel discovered Lindy Hop in 2013 and was hooked from day one, taking as many classes as she could pack into the week. Later, after travelling to some international swing dance events and attending teacher training workshops, she joined the teaching team in Cape Town to help grow the swing dance scene locally. She has been teaching Lindy Hop and Solo Jazz since 2015 and is currently the “mover & shaker” at Cape Town Swing, directing operations and keeping multiple pots on the boil. She's totally in love with swinging jazz and blues, and finds immense joy in introducing others to the infectious spirit of Swing Era dances.
About Cape Town Swing:
Cape Town Swing is a nonprofit community organisation (152-505 NPO) that nurtures a regional appreciation for the music, dance styling, and history of jazz from the Swing Era. As part of the global swing dance community, they aim to facilitate a passion for swing in South Africa by organising classes, workshops, parties and social events, and connecting with South African swing traditions.
