MUSIC IN THE GARDEN IN SEDGEFIELD 13 APRIL 2025

Join us for a magical afternoon in the Octopus Garden, on Sunday, 13 April from 3 to 6 pm. 

Acclaimed local musician Steve Newman is set to perform in Sedgefield. Steve is regarded as a maestro and is critically acclaimed for his original compositions and virtuosic playing. Over the course of a 5 decade career Steve has graced stages across the world with the likes of Salif Keita, Elvis Costello, Van Morrison, Youssou N'Dour and Sting. While his repertoire is vast and spans many genres, Steve Newman carries the soul of South African Music in his bones. 

Auriol Hays also hails from Sedgefield as does Dan Boshoff. Auriol opened for triple Grammy winning artist Ben Harper in 2019 and is renowned for her passionate voice and storytelling. She has released 6 full albums of original music and recently wowed audiences at the artscape theatre with a run of shows paying tribute to Nina Simone. Dan Boshoff has been playing , recording and touring with a range of original projects over the last 20 years and has a unique guitar style that is influenced by local flavours.

Nish Pillay, a South African percussionist known for his masterful tabla performances, blending Indian and South African musical traditions, will add his own special energy to the event

This is indeed a celebration of local artists who know ultimately where home is. Join us on April 13th.

All children under 12 will be free as long as they are accompanied by an adult and remain under their supervision."
