The Wedge Classic 2025

Plett Boardriders Association are proud to bring back the iconic Wedge Classic Surf & Bodyboard Contest, first established in 1996, for the second time!

This legendary event will take place during the Plett Ocean Festival, featuring the following divisions:

BODYBOARDING – Juniors (<18), Open (All ages), Masters (45+), Ladies (All ages), & Drop Knee (All ages)

SURFING – Juniors (<18), Open (All ages), & Ladies (All ages)

NEW ADDITIONS FOR 2025!

Grom Games – Ages 16 and under | A 2-hour bodyboarding workshop and fun comp just for the groms! Learn the basics, get ocean-smart, and ride your first waves with confidence. Includes a t-shirt, goodie bag, and prize giving at Slops — fun for the whole family.

Granny Groms – For women 45+ | Whether it’s your first time in the surf or you’re rekindling your stoke, this 2-hour workshop covers bodyboard basics, ocean awareness, and ends with a friendly comp. Includes a t-shirt, goodie bag, and prize giving at Surf Café with open mic vibes and celebration!

Triple Crown Entry Requirements:

To compete in the Wedge Classic Triple Crown and stand a chance to win BIG prizes, you must:

1. Enter one main division – Choose either Surfing or Bodyboarding as your primary division (R400).
2. Enter an add-on division – This must be from the opposite category of your main division (R200).
3. If your main division is Surfing, your add-on must be Bodyboarding.
4. If your main division is Bodyboarding, your add-on must be Surfing.
5. Enter the Mystery Division (R200).
