More about the acts:
STOKER
With their brand of honest, dirty rock ‘n roll, Stoker has made their presence known with heavilydistorted guitars, bass and pounding drums that drive the melodic intensity of their songs.

Lead vocals & guitar: Chris Bornman
Guitar & backing vocals: Redge OKennedy
Bass & backing vocals: Jurgen Borrie Bornman
Drums:Morgan OKennedy

Stoker is made up of two sets of brothers hailing from two small towns. Chris and Jurgen BorrieBornman are from Rawsonville and Morgan and Redge OKennedy are from Malmesbury. Both of the older brothers imparted their passion for rock n roll onto their younger brothers. Chris and Borrie originally kicked off as a 3-piece with drummer Joe Theron releasing their first single Stuck in the Alcohol together. In 2013 the OKennedy brothers joined Stoker, adding to the dose of vim and vigor. The guys quickly established themselves on the local live scene and they kicked into high gear in 2014 with the release of their EP, Fox in a Hole.

THE DANDIES:
No one really knows where they’re from or how they even came into existence, but The Dandies have been showing up at major festivals and blowing things out of proportion for the past two years. This winter, they have their course set for the Cape of Storms.

Kaihl Thomas Meades and Tinus Lottering make up this dangerous duo who’ve been living out of their car, performing more than 280 shows and covering 130 000 km since November 2014. You might know them from their radio-rotating songs ‘The Jack Rolling Dandy’ and ‘Do Evertything in Love’. However, they’ve added many more notches to their black leather belts, including performances with some of SA’s biggest rock acts, like The Black Cat Bones, Van Coke Kartel, aKING, Boargazm, Bittereinder and December Streets.

Their hard rock/party rock sound has landed them on the coveted stages of Oppikoppi, Grahamstown International Arts Festival, Smoking Dragon Festival, Wolmer Rock Festival and, most recently, STRAB Festival in Mozambique. Their crowds are usually left sweating and panting for more… and from 20 July 2017, it is Cape Town’s turn to sweat.

LIGHT & SHADE
"A good performance, whether it is a speech or an orchestra ensemble, never lacks in light and shade."

Light & Shade are an acoustic blues duo act from Cape Town, consisting of Jeandré Swanepoel, front man of grunge rock group De Wallen, and Luke Smith on keyboard.

Swanepoel exchanged the distorted electric guitar for his trusty acoustic during his recent solo venture, but felt compelled to team up with the gifted Smith after hearing him perform the blues on his Korg keyboard at 03:00am in Aandklas, Stellenbosch.

Smith has a background in classical music, but knew his abilities on the ebony and ivory would extend far beyond this genre. He started playing the blues at the age of 17 and today he hypnotises audiences with his guitar-quality riffs on the keys.

Their act Light & Shade was born in early 2017 and since then they have landed residencies and prime-time gigs in and around Cape Town. In the meanwhile, they’re working on new songs and assembling promotional material to keep up with their already-successful shows.
