Yin yoga class with Nigel

Yin yoga for men: Yin is the slowest form of yoga. Postures are held for five minutes each. Physical strength is not used for this practice (as it normally is in yang yoga). Rather we use gravity and letting go to apply gentle pressure to ligaments and pull of the fascia. This is believed medically to help with the immune system and has a calming effect on the nervous system. The yin class will include basic meditation and pranayama breath work.
 
About Nigel:
Nigel, founder of Cape Men's Yoga in Cape Town. has been teaching yoga for six years. He trained in Rishikesh, India. He has specialised in community yoga including nude men's yoga. He has practiced formal meditation for over fifteen years including monastic retreats in the Thai Forest Tradition. He teaches vinyasa, ashtanga, hatha, yin and restorative yoga styes.

We are a group of men - beginners - intermediate, that practice yoga together!

What to bring:
your own yoga mat, towel, water & water bottle, warm clothes and an open mind.
