ShowUP Preliminary Rounds

ShowUP is a performing arts festival inspired by the format of the famous "Britain’s Got Talent" show, where judges provide feedback immediately after each performance. This innovative competition embraces the power of technology in the arts, thanks to the EBIT faculty (Engineering, Built Environment, and Information Technology) of the University of Pretoria. The idea behind ShowUP is to combine the worlds of performing arts and technology.

ShowUP offers a unique opportunity for musicians, dancers, singers, stand-up comedians, and group acts to enhance the ‘show factor’ of their performances — not only performing with perfection but also with passion. While the competition values technique, the emphasis is placed on the Show Factor and audience interaction. Finalists will also have the chance to engage with a moving camera on stage, integrating technology into their live performances.
