Phoenix: “Death of a Salesman” by Arthur Miller

Arthur Miller’s Death of a Salesman is a poignant and devastating examination of the American Dream and its illusions. Willy Loman, a struggling salesman past his prime, clings to the belief that success comes from charisma and popularity rather than hard work and reality. As he wrestles with regret, unfulfilled dreams, and the disillusionment of his family, his mind drifts between past and present, blurring the lines between memory and truth. This timeless tragedy explores ambition, identity, and the crushing weight of societal expectations, offering a powerful critique of a world that values appearances over substance.

Gryphon: “The Play That Goes Wrong” by Henry Lewis, Henry Shields, and Jonathan Sayer

The Play That Goes Wrong is a riotous comedy that turns theatrical disaster into pure entertainment. The Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society is ready to stage their ambitious murder mystery, The Murder at Haversham Manor, but from the moment the curtain rises, everything that can go wrong does—lines are forgotten, props malfunction, and the set quite literally falls apart. As the hapless cast and crew struggle to keep the show on track, their earnest determination only makes things more hilariously catastrophic. Packed with slapstick humor, perfectly timed mishaps, and an unstoppable energy, this award-winning farce is a love letter to live theatre and all the chaos that comes with it.

Dragon: “A Streetcar Named Desire” by Tennessee Williams.

Tennessee Williams’ A Streetcar Named Desire is a gripping exploration of illusion, desire, and the brutal forces of reality. When the fragile and aristocratic Blanche DuBois arrives in New Orleans to stay with her sister Stella and her domineering husband, Stanley Kowalski, tensions quickly escalate. As Blanche clings to the remnants of her faded Southern belle identity, Stanley, driven by suspicion and raw masculinity, seeks to expose her past. The clash between fantasy and truth spirals into a devastating confrontation, making this classic American drama a haunting portrait of vulnerability, power, and the tragic cost of delusion.
