The Ionian Society Presents - An orchestral celebration on: THE IMPACT OF PROFS KHABI MNGOMA AND ES'KIA MPHAHLELE

Soweto, South Africa – Funda Community College and the Ionian Music Society are joining forces to present a collaborative music education-driven initiative on Youth Month, June 28, 2025, at Funda Community College. This event aims to honour the legacies of Prof. Es’kia Mphahlele and Prof. Khabi Mngoma, who laid much of the groundwork for education and cultural organising in Soweto from the 1950s.

• Live Orchestra Musical Experience: A performance that celebrates diverse musical heritage and cultural expression.
• Audio-visual Exhibition: An exploration of the influence of Funda Community College and the Ionian Music Society on education and culture in South Africa.
• Food and Artist Stalls: A space to enjoy local food and art.
