ABOUT

Yoga means union - celebrate yoga with your community by joining the practice of performing 108 sun salutations. The United Nations declared 21st June as the International Day of Yoga and it is now celebrated by yogis around the world. We will celebrate it on Saturday 17th June from 1.30-4pm at Rosemary Hill in Pretoria by holding a yoga mala.

A mala consists of performing 108 sun salutations. The number 108 has many symbolic and sacred meanings. There are 108 beads on a mala (a garland of prayer beads), 108 sacred sites around India, 108 sacred places on the body and the number 108 is said to represent the wholeness of existence. Magical things happen when yoga is practiced as a group and this event will celebrate in uniting the community in a shared love of yoga. The event will also feature a yoga market and yoga prizes in a lucky draw.

A small ticket fee is charged to cover costs, but all profits from the event after expenses will be donated to charity.
