ABOUT
GRASP is thrilled to announce that the esteemed Israeli psychoanalyst, Dr. Ofra Eshel, will be delivering this year's Coralie Trotter Memorial Lecture. Dr. Eshel is a distinguished training and supervising analyst, as well as a faculty member of the Israel Psychoanalytic Society and Institute. She has also served as the vice-president of the International Winnicott Association (IWA). Notably, she founded and leads the postgraduate track "Independent Psychoanalysis: Radical Breakthroughs" at the Program of Psychotherapy, Sackler Faculty of Medicine, Tel Aviv University.
Dr. Eshel's contributions to psychoanalysis are profound and far-reaching. Her seminal work, The Emergence of Analytic Oneness: Into the Heart of Psychoanalysis, delves into the deep interconnectedness between patient and analyst, offering innovative approaches to some of the most challenging therapeutic scenarios. Her clinical narratives are detailed, intense, theoretically grounded, and deeply moving.
Throughout her illustrious career, Dr. Eshel has been honoured with several prestigious awards, including the 2013 Francis Tustin International Memorial Prize, the 2017 Simmons Prize, and the 2022 Leonard J. Comess Award. Her scholarly work has been widely published in psychoanalytic journals and book chapters, translated into multiple languages, and presented at conferences worldwide. She has also taught and lectured at psychoanalytic institutes and universities around the globe.
In The Emergence of Analytic Oneness, Dr. Eshel explores a fundamental dimension of analytic presence and patient–analyst interconnectedness, offering new possibilities for extending the reach of psychoanalytic treatment and working with some of the most difficult treatment situations.
The Coralie Trotter Memorial Lecture will be held via Zoom. Due to limited capacity, priority will be given to GRASP members. If additional spaces are available, they will be offered to non-members. Tickets are priced at R250 for GRASP members and R350 for non-members.
This event presents a unique opportunity to engage with Dr. Eshel's groundbreaking perspectives and to deepen your understanding of contemporary psychoanalytic practice. We encourage all interested individuals to secure their tickets promptly, as this promises to be an enlightening and inspiring lecture, dedicated to the memory of Coralie Trotter.
