After the massive success of the past two years of hosting The Grand Exhibition International Burlesque Benefit in South Africa, we are thrilled to bring you this year's Johannesburg event- Bigger, Better and Bustier than 2016!

What is The Grand Exhibition Burlesque Benefit you may ask?

#TGE is a marvellous burlesque show, featuring the local kings and queens of the burlesque community. It is a celebration of beauty and artistic expression, which not only serves to entertain audiences, but also raise funds for charity.

When launched in 2015, The Grand Exhibition Cape Town in conjunction with Naked Girls Reading - Cape Town, raised R28 000 for CT Rape Crisis. The JHB event raised R19 200 for The Breast Health Foundation, bringing the total raised for charity in 2015 to R47 227! In 2016 The Grand Exhibition International Burlesque Benefit Johannesburg, raised over R18000 for The Breast Health Foundation! Cape Town did fantastically with their raffle, auction and event, and raised a whopping R36 390 for RC Cape Town Trust! This year we would like to aim at a target of R30 000, so please do take a look at the event on Quicket to find out how you can donate, buy merchandise or purchase tickets for the show in order to show support!

We are excited to say that this year we have decided to split the proceeds between The Breast Health Foundation, and HALO. This is a project of Jennifer Leighton’s, a legend in the SA Showgirl scene. By supporting her charity organisation too, we spread the love within our community and support another cause which needs all the help they can get.

The ethos behind The Grand Exhibition brings burlesque dancers and lovers of burlesque together; to raise much needed funds for a variety of charities across South Africa. By showcasing our artform, we as a Burlesque Community join together to celebrate empowerment through dance while donating our performances towards creating a magical spectacle of beauty and sensuality for our esteemed audiences to enjoy!

#TheGrandExhibition2017 will showcase Johannesburg’s (and some of Cape Town's) top burlesque talent, with acts ranging from seasoned professional solo performances to sensational group numbers from both Vintage Cheek- Burlesque Revue & Black Orchid Burlesque SA, as well as independent performers who support the local burlesque community! We also have a VERY SPECIAL GUEST this year, so keep your eyes on this page for announcements over the next two months!

Enjoy the indulgent atmosphere of this gorgeous venue; be mesmerized by a spectacular burlesque show; and then dance until midnight as Movida invites us to the after party (entrance free for all Grand Exhibition ticket holders)!
