Welcome to Matieland!
Can you believe it? Your child is now part of a vibrant and multicultural Matie student community of more than 32 000 students.
To celebrate this wonderful moment, Stellenbosch University’s Development and Alumni Relations Division is delighted to invite you to a welcoming drinks event at our Alumni Clubhouse, Die Stal, at Coetzenburg in Stellenbosch. This will provide you with the opportunity to meet up with and connect with fellow parents/guardians of new Maties.
The official welcoming event for newcomer students and their parents by the Vice-Chancellor and Rector, Prof Wim de Villiers, takes place at 17:30 at the Danie Craven Stadium on 30 January 2025. Our event takes place shortly thereafter and will end before the Dream Walk down Victoria Street at 20:15, leaving you enough time to experience one of the highlights of the University’s welcoming programme.
