Gala Concert with Orchestra

The Vth Odeion School of Music [OSM] Liesbeth Schlumberger Organ Chair will coincide with the re-inauguration of the University of the Free State [UFS] Marcussen Organ. The grand finale, a gala concert, is scheduled for 8 February at 19:00 in the Kopanong Auditorium, with the Marcussen Organ taking centre stage in a remarkable programme.

The highlight of the evening will be the performance of the Rheinberger Organ Concerto, featuring the internationally acclaimed organist Liesbeth Schlumberger, who holds dual French and South African heritage. She will perform alongside a festival orchestra comprising talented musicians from the FSSO, OSM, OSQ, and MSP under the baton of Pretoria-based conductor Schalk van der Merwe.
