Led by internationally acclaimed saxophonist Dan Shout, The Dan Shout Quintet delivers a dynamic blend of jazz artistry and soulful storytelling. Based in Cape Town, South Africa, Dan has graced stages in over 30 countries, performing alongside legends such as Johnny Clegg, Winston Mankunku, and Maria Schneider.

The Quintet’s repertoire showcases Dan’s original, homegrown South African jazz compositions, which vividly reflect his life and experiences in Southern Africa. The ensemble features some of Cape Town’s top session musicians, including Ben van der Geyn on guitar, Andrew Ford on piano, Joshua Nemaire on bass, and Kevin Gibson on drums. Together, they create a rich and authentic soundscape that celebrates the region’s diverse musical heritage.
