Meisie Beskrywing

Drie musikante met waarskynlik meer verskille as ooreenkomste het een middag bymekaar gekom en gesels. Baie gou het die idee ontstaan om ons kragte saam te span en iets unieks op die planke te bring. 

Met Naomi Tagg se elektroniese musiekagtergrond en voorliefde vir movie soundtracks, Janette Rottcher se deeglike klassieke agtergrond en voorliefde vir alternatiewe musiek en Lizanne Barnard se kabaret en musiekteater agtergrond en liefde vir komponeer en verwerk, kon 'n samesmelting definitief iets opwindend oplewer – en dit het. 

MEISIE is die naam van hierdie trio en hulle is op 'n missie om gehore te boei met musiek en verhaaltjies uit hulle onderskeie geskiedkundige agtergronde, oor die vroue wat hulle vooruit gegaan het en wat dit beteken om vandag vrou en musikant te wees. 

Die dinge gebeur rondom die klavier met twee viole, fluit, perkussie, sang en baie pret, want as drie meisies bymekaar kom kan dit net lekker wees!

Three musicians with probably more differences than similarities got together one afternoon and chatted. Very soon, the idea arose of starting to collaborate and to stage something unique.

With Naomi Tagg's electronic music background and love for movie soundtracks, Janette Rottcher's thorough classical background and penchant for alternative music and Lizanne Barnard's cabaret and musical theatre background and love for composing and arranging, a collaboration could definitely yield something exciting – and it has. 

MEISIE is the name of this trio and they are on a mission to captivate audiences with music and stories from their respective historical backgrounds, about the women who went before them and what it means to be a woman and a musician today.  

The things happen around the piano with two violins, flute, percussion, singing and lots of fun, because when three girls get together it can only be fun! 

MEISIE's launch concert takes place on Sunday afternoon 2 March 2025, 11:30 for 12 o'clock. Bring some friends and come visit Coolmore Restaurant - the nicest characterful old-world restaurant just outside White River. Tickets for the show are available on Quicket at R395 pp per person and include a three-course meal and the show.  Drinks are offered for sale.
