Cape Town Craft Club is collaborating with Silent Book Club Cape Town, Letterhead, FAIR and Twyg to create a special day of reading and repairing.

This event is free and open to everyone! If you'd like to participate in the repair circle, please book your free ticket on Quicket. Otherwise, feel free to drop in at any time during the event.

Whether you're looking for guidance on repairing a favourite pair of pants, donating or swapping preloved books, enjoying an hour of uninterrupted reading, or all of the above—we’d love to see you there!

Repair circle

Cape Town Craft Club, supported by Twyg and Fashion Revolution, will be hosting a repair circle. Both believe that caring for the clothes we already own is one of the easiest steps to building a sustainable wardrobe and lifestyle and in the beauty of crafting within a community. Bring along your clothing that needs mending or a new lease of life and enjoy an afternoon of stitching. Basic supplies and guidance will be provided, and curated patch kits will also be available for purchase.

Silent reading session

Silent Book Club Cape Town will be facilitating an hour of silent reading: a break from life’s pressures, in a beautiful setting! Grab your latest book, e-book, or other reading material, and make some bookish friends (if you’d like to!).

Book swap

Park Café isn’t just our venue for the day – it’s also host to FAIR’s largest ‘little’ free library. Bring along a book or two that’s gathering dust on your shelves, or that you’ve just finished and can’t wait to share, and let it become someone else’s new favourite. 

Cape Town Craft Club gets creative people in the city together to craft in a laid-back, fun and judgement-free space.

Letterhead is The One-Stop Words Shop. In addition to their commercial and editorial writing, they take time to explore and experiment with all things language-related.

FAIR Social is a little free library project powered by Letterhead in South Africa’s cities, supporting and promoting the linguistic and literary arts. Free libraries, free society.
