Public tours offered by SALT Visitor Centre in Sutherland

We are closed on: Sundays & Public holidays

Day tours: Day tours are done as fully guided tours.

People per tour: 30

Fully Guided tours (Guided walk through the Visitor Centre as well as a guided tour of selected research telescopes including SALT)

Monday to Saturday: 10:30 and 14:30

Fee: R120,00 per person

Children 6 – 11: R60

Children under 6: Free

Please Note:

Due to ongoing renovations at our site, all bookings made for visits between the 25th and 31st will receive a special 25% discount per ticket.

We truly appreciate your understanding and patience during this time, and we apologize for any inconvenience caused.

Tour fees go towards the SAAO’s education, public outreach, and socio-economic development programs. Tour bookings must be paid in advance – no payments will be accepted on-site.
