Willim Welsyn’s 8th studio album Blitzkriek will be released only a few days before the event. Willim is the front man of South African rock group Willim Welsyn en die Sunrise Toffies. He also hosts WAT met Willim Welsyn - the best music podcast in Africa, sporting 800 to 2000 weekly listeners in the Cape area and resides on the iTunes Top 10 podcast charts (arts section) every week. He has agreed to punt the event on his podcast and mention the sponsors during his show every week until 1 June.
Die Wasgoedlyn formed because of its raging success on DStv’s Afrikaans channel kykNET. Riku Lätti started the TV series in 2015 when he travelled across the country to interview artists in their home and having them tell the stories behind their music. Today, up to 20 of these local artists collaborate on stage at major events as ‘Die Wasgoedlyn’.
They released their album in 2016 and are in high demand at festivals due to its success.
Roxton met Herki is a South African duo who is fast becoming a must-have at all the major festivals in the country with their unique sound. However, it is their message that keeps fans pouring to their shows and dragging their friends along: “just be nice to the world, to yourself, to the water and the air – you are responsible for your own happiness.”
They released their debut album as a duo Slightly Ajar in April and are fresh off their launch tour.
