Drip Disa & Orange Kloof Hike
Sun Dec 15, 06:00 - Sun Dec 15, 14:00
Constantia Nek Parking Lot
ABOUT
Join us on a guided hike in search of the incredibly beautiful Drip Disa on Table Mountain! Seeing this little mauve orchid (Disa longicornu) is our big objective for the day and the localities where they occur require us putting in some big mileage! We'll be looking out for other summer floral specials, hike through vibrant new growth after the April fire as well as talk about the general ecology of the mountain.
Route: We'll ascend via the Bridle Path and head for the Aqueduct passing through some of the young, vibrant fynbos around Junction Peak before looking for the Drip Disa. The aqueduct is also a great place to refill water bottles. Our return will be via Disa Gorge (Orange Kloof). It will be a circular route ending up back at Constantia Nek.
