Poelano: The Artistic Reconciliation is an event that seeks to introspectively honour South Africa’s Day of Reconciliation, which is observed annually on December the 16th. This public holiday stands as a reminder of the nation’s journey toward unity in the wake of its divided past. Poelano, the events name means "reconcile" in Setswana, which encapsulates the events essence and main objective: an attempt to comprehend what it means to reconcile with our past and our present, as creative/cultural practitioners, while exploring the role we play within the reconciliation process of our nation within our relative sectors. Poelano seeks to leverage the transformative power of art to explore reconciliation from various vantage points and mediums within the art sector, this will be achieved through an artistic

showcase, panel discussion, film screening and musical offerings.
