Our inaugural screening for the Lumi Documentary Film Club will be the much anticipated 'The M Factor' - Shredding the Silence on Menopause. The first documentary film on the health crisis faced by millions of women going through the menopause.
Have you been trying to figure out what the heck menopause is all about but struggling with conflicting views, taboo-like secrecy or just lack of information? Is HRT good for us, or bad for us? Will I ever enjoy sex again? How long does menopause last? How can I proactively manage my health during menopause to mitigate the risks of other problems like cardiovascular disease and dementia?
Hormonal changes can cause a myriad of physical and psychological symptoms, already before menopause. Yet, despite its widespread impact, many medical professionals lack adequate education on menopause, leaving them ill-prepared to guide women through this transitional, important phase.
The M Factor confronts this neglected menopause crisis, challenging societal and medical shortcomings, and advocating for a revolutionary approach to women's health in America. These topics are all very relevant in our own country and indeed worldwide and we hope this film will encourage you to make informed choices moving forward through the next phase of your life.
After the screening there is space for an informal chat about the documentary.
Fee is to cover costs of drinks, screen and cleaning.
