ABOUT
On Wednesday December 11th Pedro comes to the Commons for a special show moving through the musical worlds that he’s spent his life engaging with.
He will bring songs from Latin American, African and European traditions to life, with the help of a wonderful cast of musicians:
Pedro Espi Sanchis - voice and instruments
Buddy Wells - saxophone
Timothy Fortes - drums
Tiana Amari - bass
Benji Anstey - guitar
Gabriel Espi - voice and percussion
A rare and special occasion - don't miss it!
As a musician, storyteller and educator, Pedro Espi-Sanchis’ career has seen him travel the world, playing at festivals such as WOMAD and EtnoSur, and collaborating with a range of wonderful musicians both at home and abroad (including Madosini, Hilton Schilder, Jonny Blundell and Julian Sanchez).
A player of many instruments, Pedro seems to have the ability to make music out of anything, as seen in his teaching kids to make instruments with recycled materials on KideoTV and in his storytelling shows (as Pedro the Music Man). He has expertise in several African and Latin musical styles, along with an extensive repertoire of folk songs from around the world.
