GENUINE BEING: “THE UNMASKING OF SELF” RETREAT
Fri Feb 7, 15:00 - Sun Feb 9, 14:00
Sima Kade - Bush Retreat
ABOUT
Men want to be themself and live a more authentic life. Why is it important, and what exactly does it mean to you? Look at the man in the mirror. Is he the one that molds to what society wants him to be, despite being deeply unhappy inside? Is this man you?
Is it possible to live more authentically? Could your inner world be happier while you change the way the outside world sees you?
Absolutely. It’s time to rediscover the authentic self you’ve kept hidden for so long that even you forgot it existed.
We offer a unique opportunity to be part of a small group of like-minded men who are lifting their masks attending this Genuine Being: “The Unmasking of Self” weekend retreat – this weekend is filled with self-discovery through conscious bodywork, male bonding and touch. Journey into active meditation, breath work, energetic movement, and conscious connection through touch. You will begin to rediscover your TRUE self by lifting the mask.
PURPOSE OF THIS EVENT:
The question is: Can we live more authentically? Will the world inside us be better and what about the world out there?
The Authentic-self losing the mask Retreat offers an opportunity to be part of a powerful transformation process, in a safe, trusting, authentic and supportive group of men searching for the same.
POTENTIAL OUTCOMES FOR THIS WEEKEND
- Connection with the True Self and men around you
- Desire – Exploring what is holding you back
- Conscious communication skills for fulfilling relationships.
- From headspace into your body and be in the moment.
- With bodywork, breathing and meditation techniques we connect with ourselves
- Giving yourself consent to be in a space where you are fully embracing and to respect your own boundaries and others.
- Be involved and authentic in your whole life
IS THIS FOR ME?
The True Self is free and without identity. Clothing, labels and technology mask our True Self. We, therefore, invite you, if you feel comfortable, to shed these layers and experience the weekend with no restrictions.
This event is open to men regardless. Often we can give ourselves a hard time on how we think we look to others, and this is an opportunity to go beyond that, to be vulnerable and to let others accept you just as you are. With open hearts, with an openness to accept everybody, let the magic of touch take you to new parts of yourself you never knew existed. Read more if you have any more questions FAQ.
No previous experience of massage, yoga or bodywork is needed but would be an advantage eg. Aquabliss4men or a Massage Exchange
- Light cloths (At least one light jacket or something warm for the night) - Although it will be about 35ºC (95ºF)
- Sarong - you can also purchase @ R300 (Maybe you already paid for one)
- Sandals or hiking boots or Sneakers/Tekkies (if you bring the sneakers please bring light sandals also)
- Hat

- Yoga Mat - if you have one - that would help as I can not travel with 20 mats
- Personal Items and toiletries (tooth paste, moisturiser etc…)
- Mosquito repellent - it’s summer time and these beasts like to feed on city boys...
- Flash light (not Flesh or that kind, you dirty man) or head lamp, it’s dark out there.
- Special Evening - Dress Code for Saturday - 1st February 2025
White shirt, T-shirt, vest or any other white top.
