ABOUT

Short&Sweet will be back at Klein Libertas on Tuesday, 1 October to host another unforgetabl night celebrating film and music.

Comprising all-new content, Cape Town’s original short film experience has returned to pique your perceptions and canoodle your curiosity. Dedicated to the exhibition of short film as a critical art form, Short & Sweet showcases a hand selected bouquet of the world’s most original short films, animations and music videos.

We'll be screening a selection of the best short films recently premiered at our third season of Short & Sweet in Cape Town. After the final film, we're very proud to have our favourite new band Yndian Mynah, join us for an exclusive gig.

Expect an electric social atmosphere in which the interested and the interesting congregate to network, share ideas and celebrate cinema.

What we're all about?

Short & Sweet brings people and short film together, inspiring and empowering audiences while celebrating the medium.
Short & Sweet began as London’s only weekly short film festival, running every Monday night since May 8th, 2006. Short & Sweet Weekly has recently expanded to Toronto.

Each and every week, we show a selection of the finest short films, music videos and short animations from around the globe: old films, new films, from established directors to breaking talent. The intent is to inspire all who attend, expose the best talent and ultimately celebrate film. We are dedicated to the exhibition of short film as an art form in its own right. With over 200 people attending each week, this is a great place to network.

Films are selected to take audiences on a journey: creatively, personally and emotionally. We hope to leave audiences both inspired and awestruck. Taboos are tested, perceptions rattled, and senses explored. Over the years we have been proud to witness the positive influence that Short & Sweet has had on so many people. Individuals have been inspired to explore their own creativity.
