ABOUT
Join us for a day of deep connection, sacred movement, and inner transformation at Dance Of Divinity, presented by SOULTONYX.
A fully immersive event that blends ancient traditions and modern healing modalities, music and dance to create a space for personal growth and spiritual community, in a beautiful setting in Hout Bay, Cape Town.
One of the event’s highlights will be a mesmerizing demonstrative performance & guidance by Whirling Dervish, BITA RAFIA, (Turkey).
Bita Rafia is a teacher, leader, and choreographer of these spiritual and mystical dances, including Dances of Universal Peace and Sama. She was born in Khorasan, a region in northeastern Iran. Khorasan, meaning "where the sun arrives from", was once the centre for Persian Mysticism and produced some of the greatest mystics, including Rumi and Attar.
Residing in Turkey, she shares it with others through her teachings and global performances. One of her most notable works is Sama in Seven Valleys of Love, inspired by the book “Conference of the Birds” by the Persian poet Attar, which depicts the stages of the spiritual journey through love.
The Whirling Dervish practice, or Sema, originates from the Sufi tradition and is a form of spiritual meditation in motion. The dancer, dressed in flowing white robes, will spin gracefully in a state of deep devotion, symbolizing the soul’s journey towards divine unity.
Witnessing this ancient practice is a powerful experience, bringing to life the poetry and philosophy of Rumi, and reminding us of the interconnectedness of all beings.
Schedule:
10:00am – Opening Tea Ceremony accompanied by the Eastern Organic sounds & music by TERAH.
11:30am - 1:30pm
Whirling Dervish & Seven Valleys of Love Immersive Workshop with Bita Rafia (Turkey).
BITA RAFIA will take the stage in a powerful display of devotion and meditative dance. Her demonstration of the Sema ritual will evoke the sacred symbolism of turning towards truth, shedding the ego, and returning to the source of creation.
This is a spiritual journey inspired by the great master Fariduddin Attar's book Mateq Al-Tair or the Conference of Birds, during which people go through seven stages of spiritual journey and taste a drop of each stage.
These stages are in the order of:
Seeking,
Love,
Knowledge,
Astonishment,
Oneness,
Astonishment and annihilation.
In this inner journey, we are accompanied by movement, conscious step, Sufi whirling, Sufi meditation and Sufi dance.
