Interdisciplinary artist MANA returns from residencies composing and performing in Switzerland and a tour in Europe, and we excitedly await her fresh short film screening and live concert at the legendary Labia Theatre.

Traversing themes of cultural hybridity, cellular worlds & warm embrace, get ready for a cinematic immersion into the MANA Universe.

The short film, serving as a visual & conceptual companion to MANA's music, was co-directed by MANA with co-direction and cinematography by arts-science transdisciplinary artist Kamil Adam Hassim. Shot in the tiny town of Riebeek Kasteel on the outskirts of Cape Town, the film is a moving portrait of an era and the interconnected lives of a small community exploring themes of impermanence, connectedness and the resilience of the human spirit.

The live concert features virtuosic musicians Luke Verrezen on bass, Khaya Mthembu-Salter on guitar, Vuyo Nkasawe on keys and MANA on vocals. Their music has traveled across the globe and has been called "ethereal", "vulnerable" and "true artistry” - offering audiences a transcendental narrative experience.
