You are invited to OUR SECOND EDTECH MEET UP. 


Hosted by the new CiTi ed-tech cluster (www.edtech.org.za), this is an opportunity for entrepreneurs, teachers, funders, students, tech people and anyone interested to hear about and talk about how we can use technology to improve education in South Africa and the wider African continent.

Our next meet up will be at the Khayelitsha Barn on 19 April. We will provide transport from the Bandwidth Barn leaving at 5pm (so please arrive 4.45pm). Otherwise please feel free to make your own way to Khayelitsha Barn for 5.30pm  
 
Please only register for transport if you intend to use it to give us an idea of numbers. If you aren't sure, say you will make your own way !! Registering for transport and not showing will mean removal from our distribution list for future events - you are welcome to just register for the event but not transport if you aren't sure  :).

i. Chris Hani school & Project Isizwe present the Khaye Fi Project 
 
The Khaye-Fi project is a sustainable WiFi model which uses easily available and innovative currencies to provide Free WiFi to the Khayelitsha community. Users exchange recyclables, participate in online mirco-learning opportunities and play socially impactful games to earn WiFi through this rewards based project. Our team will share the model and the principal at our host site, Chris Hani Secondary School - will highlight how they are championing the integration of ICT into their classroom practice.

ii. Coding stars of the future from Code For CapeTown 

iii. EdTech stars of the future from local EdTech start up Go Varsity 
 
 
2. Network and socialise with other people working in and around edtech - funders, entrepreneurs, teachers, students, government policy makers and others interested in raising standards in education using technology.
