Please note the following points to make this live experience even better:
While it is common for the orchestra to play through the works for the 'FDR' as they would for the concert performance, please remember that this is, nevertheless, a rehearsal. The conductor may choose to stop and start the music as required, or rehearse in a different order from the final concert. This is often viewed as one of the special qualities of watching a live rehearsal instead of the actual concert. If you wish to come to a finished concert performance, please rather book for the evening session through Webtickets.
The rehearsal will last between 2 and 3 hours, including an interval.
We ask that you please respect the working space of the orchestra, and not talk or move around once you are inside the hall as this can be very distracting for the musicians.
There are coffee shops nearby the City Hall, but please note NO refreshments are allowed inside the City Hall.
Seating is unreserved and available both upstairs and downstairs on a first come first serve basis.
If you forget your ticket, do not worry - we have a list of all those who booked and can check it there.
The entrance to the rehearsal is at the back of the City Hall which is around the corner from the library, opposite the offices of Woolworths.
