Known as the King Of The Zulu Guitar, Madala Kunene's music transcends entertainment, embodying a profound healing essence. In a career spanning over 5 decades he has enthralled audiences locally and abroad with a style that blends up-tempo guitar synths with blues lyrics, crossing the line between jazz and Zulu folk blues.

With favourites such as "Konko Man" and "Ubombo", his sound has become a staple within South Africa's indigenous musical tapestry. In 2023 he was honoured by the University of KwaZulu Natal as a Doctor of Music in recognition of his profound impact on indigenous music, followed, in 2024, by the prestigious honour of the Gold Order of Ikhamanga for exceptional contribution to the arts, conferred on him by President M.C Ramaphosa.

Dr. Madala Kunene will present an acoustic set, led by his legendary Zulu guitar, in an intimate setting, within the context of a general music discussion about his style and approach. This is a call to all collectors and lovers of ethnic jazz and related sounds, let's have a meeting!
