ABOUT
BIG BANDS & JAZZ VOICESTonight we feature two fabulous Cape Town Big Bands!
Firstly the excellent Rondebosch Boys High Big Band conducted by Terence Scarr.
And then the UCT Big Band conducted by Mike Rossi and featuring US trumpeter Gordon Vernick in a tribute to Dizzy Gillespie and other great jazz trumpeters.
The UCT Jazz Voices conducted by Amanda Tiffin will also grace the stage.
The SAJE Jazz Festival is a biennial event focusing on performance, workshops, jazz education, skills and audience development.
The 2017 Festival is funded by the SAMRO Foundation, Business and Arts South Africa (BASA), National Lotteries Commission, Italian Institute for Culture (IIC) and Paul Bothner Music.
SAJE = South African Association for Jazz Education - established 25 years ago in 1992!
