Vocal talent Showcase

Keith Tabisher presents rising vocal stars Carly Barendilla, Marzia Barry and Ethan Tobin in a showcase of popular ballads and standards at Christ Church Constantia on Sunday 1st September at 3pm.

Experienced lead singer Cindy Gibbons will make a guest appearance. The singers will be accompanied by a live band led by Keith Tabisher.

Marzia Barry is a jazz vocalist based in Cape Town. In addition to having her B.Mus degree, she has performed at various jazz festivals around South Africa - including the Artscape Youth Jazz Festival and the National Youth Jazz Festival in Makhanda. She is currently working on her Master's degree specialising in jazz performance.

Carly Barendilla is a creative, young vocalist in Cape Town. She recently graduated with a B.Mus Degree in Jazz Studies at the South African College of Music, University of Cape Town. Carly is a singer in an NPO flagship band called the Little Giants under the direction of George Werner. Little Giants is part of a programme called IMAD that teaches underprivileged children to read music and play instruments. Carly has also participated in and won the Fine Music Radio Bursary Trust awards in the jazz category for 2023. Carly's goal as a vocalist and musician is to be as versatile and authentic as she can be, while reaching her full potential by striving to do her best musically.

Lead singer of the band Tucan Tucan for four years, Cindy Gibbons has appeared locally at Grand West, the Roxy Revue, Barnyard Theatre, Ratanga Junction, Waterfront BMW Pavilion and internationally at venues in Dubai, Germany, Mauritius, Namibia, Mocambique and Zimbabwe.
