ABOUT
Offered in collaboration with Black Girls Rising, this is a full day programme bringing together teenagers and senior citizens to cross inter-generational boundaries over food.
New Skool Old School is the Food Indaba's one day food systems academy that will see some 50 people coming together to celebrate youth and age, and to explore the connections between them through food.
The programme takes place at Bertha House in Mowbray and at Food Jams Soute venue in Salt River.
PROGRAMME

09h00. Welcome. Mapping the day
09h30. Activities to facilitate connection between the participants
11h00. Refreshment break
11h20. Food Systems Masterclass with Rina Swart of the Centre of Excellence in Food Security
13h30. Is it Food: lunch gameshow cooking experience at Soute, Food Jams venue Salt River
15h30. Reflections and connections
16h30. Home time!
The ticket price includes lunch and all refreshments.
It does not include transport to and from the locations on the day.
Parking is available on the street at Bertha House and Soute.
Participants arrive at Bertha House for the morning part of the programme, and then move to Soute in Salt River for the afternoon part including lunch.
