35 Mil: Film photography portrait workshop

Join Film My Soul for 35Mil, our first-ever interactive film photography workshop - a hands-on experience for film enthusiasts of all levels.

We’ll be shooting in a professional studio in Midrand, Johannesburg, using studio strobes and a single Minolta X-700 loaded with Kodak Portra 400 (colour) and Ilford HP5 (black & white).

All 10 participants will take turns photographing 3 models, each with outfit changes, including Looh Da Walker. Explore different perspectives using a range of lenses (28mm, 35mm, 45mm, 50mm).

No need to bring your own camera or film, unless you want to capture behind-the-scenes content.

After the workshop, all portraits will be curated in a limited-edition A5 photobook, with each attendee receiving their own copy.

The agenda for the day will also be shared with all participants before the event.
