Acclaimed musician Mel Botes returns to the stage with an electrifying new show: "Guitar Heroes". After captivating audiences for over 30 years with critically acclaimed tributes Crazy Diamond – Pink Floyd and Sultans of Swing – Dire Straits, Botes brings his unparalleled talent to a celebration of the guitar greats who have inspired him.
For decades, Botes has mesmerised fans with his meticulous recreations of Pink Floyd and Dire Straits masterpieces. Audiences and critics alike have hailed his ability to capture the essence of these iconic bands, praising his pinpoint accuracy and signature "Botes touch”.
Joined by a team of master musicians, the inimitable Simon Orange (of the Blues Broers’ fame) on Hammond piano and Francois Kruger (of Springbok Nude Girls’ fame) on drums, this show also gives Mel the opportunity to showcase some of his original work together with that of a selection of the most successful rock guitarists of all time.
Guitar Heroes promises a thrilling new experience, drawing on public demand. This dynamic production showcases Botes' personal favourites from guitar legends like Carlos Santana, Eric Clapton, JJ Cale, David Gilmour, Gary Moore, Mark Knopfler, Jimi Hendrix, George Harisson, Chris Rea, BB King and many more.
