ABOUT

The CRR in relation to the new Gauteng Conservation Plan, corridors and other environmental features

This topic may sound very technical but our speaker, GDARDE Conservation Planner, Dr Stephan Veldsman will help us understand the position the CRR has in relation to critical biodiversity areas, ecological support areas, and climate change / species corridors.

The Gauteng Conservation Plan is currently being updated and this presentation will provide an early peak into the plan before it is even launched and signed off. Further, this talk will provide insight into the areas threatened ecosystems and wetlands.

For anyone with a keen interest in conservation in Gauteng this talk will be invaluable.

For any CRR Member, particularly those who may have questions about the importance of the surrounding area and just how much it matters, this talk is an absolute must.

This event will be held at Plot 88 Boundary Street Doornrandje accessible from the R511 on Saturday 22nd June 2024.

We will start at 9h30 and finish by 11h30.

The cost is R95 per adult. Children are free.

There will be a safe space for children to play outside since we understand this event is unlikely to grab their attention.

We have been presented with a rare opportunity to hear directly from someone dealing with the conservation of our irreplaceable biodiversity in Gauteng on a daily basis, so be sure not to miss it!
