St Thomas Church Rondebosch
ABOUT
An afternoon performance by Cape Town Concert Brass, held in the beautiful St Thomas's Church Rondebosch, for the benefit of the church.
Cape Town Concert Brass is a 35 piece brass and percussion ensemble which has been rehearsing and performing for the past 25 years. The band is directed by South African College of Music percussion lecturer Frank Mallows. Their program covers a wide range of musical styles from the typical brass fanfare, light classical music, film music, to swinging big band jazz.
St Thomas's Anglican Church Rondebosch is celebrating its 160th anniversary this year. Founded in 1865, the original mission chapel was designed by Sophy Gray, and was recently the recipient of a Blue Plaque from the Cape Town Heritage Foundation. It is the vision of the church to be a welcoming, inclusive, loving heart of God in Rondebosch.
