Gustav d'Assonville, Senior Manager
Gustav d'Assonville is a Senior Manager in KPMG South Africa's Technology Assurance unit and leads the Cyber Defence service line, which includes technical cyber assessments for large corporates in Southern Africa. He has over 17 years’ experience in the IT and Cyber Security domains and holds a master’s degree in Information Technology as well as multiple cyber security industry certifications (CISA, CISM, CISSP and ISO 27001 Lead Implementer). His industry experience includes consulting and audit engagements within the Financial Services, Banking, Energy & Natural Resources, Technology, Healthcare and Manufacturing Industries. Prior to joining KPMG, Gustav was the IT manager for a large private radiology practice overseeing IT and security operations as well as leading the transformation to a digital workflow. He is an experienced speaker on Information Security (including global congress level)  and part time lecturer in Information Security Management at Nelson Mandela University.

Darren Lentz CA(SA), Senior Manager
Darren Lentz is a Senior Manager in KPMG South Africa’s Technology Assurance unit and leads the Cyber Assurance service line, which includes technical assessments of WebPKI Security (Web Encryption and Cryptography infrastructure) for Southern Africa. He has over 8 years’ of professional services and consulting experience and holds honours degrees in both Accounting and Computer Science. He started his career in Business and Finance managing numerous financial statement audit teams in the South African and Australian KPMG offices, across various industries including Automotive, Manufacturing, Healthcare and Technology & Communications. Darren then went on to manage Technology Assurance (IT) audit teams performing General IT Controls reviews and Cyber Security reviews. He is an experienced speaker on Information Security at a local conference level, and has performed multiple guest lectures on cybersecurity for UCT, UWC and Stellenbosch University.
