Directed and choreographed by Tanzley Jooste and Leroy Samuels, OORLEEF takes a deep look into mental illness within the dance industry. We cannot underestimate the social, emotional, mental and spiritual strength it takes to endure the industry with triumph and success, all of this while facing the daily battles and constraints within the mind. These challenges multiply in complexity when adding in the pressure and struggles of daily life.

The aim of this production is not just for awareness, but to uplift and remove the stigma associated with mental illness as a whole. This is not just a dance production but a dedication, to those we have lost, to those who are fighting now, and for those who have overcome, we salute you!
