ABOUT

Jean Strauss, a Cape Town native, is a saxophonist with a passion for music that started in his early years. His drive led to steady and rapid growth and development in his craft. 

 Now, as a scholarship student at Berklee College of Music, he continues to expand his musical horizons. 

 Jean's performances showcase his technical mastery and soulful sound, demonstrating true knowledge in jazz and several musical genres. 

 Jean has worked and performed with several great musicians including world-class saxophonist and composer Tia Fuller, renowned New York bassist Mimi Jones and 2024 Standard Bank Young Artist for Jazz, Darren English. 

 With a dedication to mentoring aspiring musicians, Jean aims to leave a lasting impact on the global music scene.
