Essentials
Wearing of proper hiking shoes/ boots
Proper hydration with recommended 3lt of water and energy supplies (food) to last you for 8 hours.
Wear appropiate clothing and cater for sudden weather changes
Cost: R100 pp including , hike, entrance fee for car, use of facilities, braai and swimming pool.
Meeting Point: Meet at venue by the pool area, sign attendance register and meet and greet with everyone before setting off on the hike.

Plan ahead with taking in travelling time to get there so you do not arrive late as you will miss the hike.
Ensure you have packed at least 2-3lt of water with snacks/lunch that you will need to get you through the day.
The start of the hike is an energy sapping 2 hr climb to the summit starting at Fernkloof gorge, thereafter we head towards the Amphithetre then onwards to the edge, stop for a break while taking in the panoramic views of the dam then follow up back to Buttress Gorge before heading back to Fernkloof and back to base.
Please Note: This hike is graded moderate so not suitable for beginners or novice hikers as you will be bundu bashing and climbing and due to the terrain it will require a moderate level of fitness.
The Magaliesberg is a beautiful range of hills with lovely flora, small game and loads of beautiful streams, pools and waterfalls and all of this on our doorstep close to Johannesburg and Pretoria.
Escape from the city and join us for an Explorer's hike up the mountain, exploring the various kloofs and rock pools and enjoy paranoramic views from atop.
