Georgetown is a multi-instrumental folk band from Pretoria South Africa. Formed in February 2014, the talented Michael de Villiers, Renaldo van Dyk, Rynier Prins and Tiaan Erasmus, have told their stories and shared their rhythms across mainstages, theatres and towns.

With their roots planted in the diverse Southern Africa, Georgetown is a captivating hybrid of the classics and unique local influences. They bring audiences together with the use of a variety of musical instruments during their performances, including acoustic guitar, accordion, piano, upright bass, mandolin, harmonica, and a vintage suitcase kick-drum, promising a distinctive and creative sound to contemporary and original folk music.

Georgetown has received a SAMA nomination for Best Contemporary Album and performed more than 700 shows locally and internationally.

Their captivating blend of classics and local influences, rooted in diverse Southern Africa, is presented through a variety of instruments, including acoustic guitar, piano, upright bass, and more.

Their debut EP, "Banana Jack," arrived in 2016, followed by the SAMA nominated full-length album "The Dog Show" in 2018. Now, Georgetown has released their third studio album, "Wrong Key Baby, Right Keyhole," on March 15, 2024. This evolution in sound combines folk-pop ballads with tight harmonies and Pop rock inspired by the 70s, maintaining their authentic southern folk undertones. The band has explored Afrikaans music through collaborations with Bacchus Nel and introduced a few original Afrikaans song as well.

At Centurion Theatre you can expect a feel good, foot stomping show including guest artist’ Dane Rudolph and the renowned Riaan van Rensburg on drums.
