ABOUT
Join the NWU Wind Ensemble on Thursday, the 23rd of May, in the NWU Conservatory Hall at 18:30 for a concert that promises to take audiences on an extraordinary musical journey.
The concert will feature timeless pieces such as Gustav Holst's Second Suite in F, a masterpiece that weaves together folk melodies with classical sophistication. Audiences will be transported to the Scottish highlands with the Blue Bells of Scotland with Samuel Nku as trumpet soloist and feel the serene beauty of nature in Jan van der Roost's Swan on the Hill. The ever-popular folksongs, Loch Lomond and Shenandoah will evoke the rich cultural landscapes of Scotland and America. The concert reaches its climax with Steven Reineke's Pilatus: Mountain of Dragons. This exhilarating piece brings the legendary tale of Mount Pilatus to life.
