ABOUT
Khaya Mthembu Salter is a Cape Town guitarist and composer. He is in his second year studying at UCT and is already active inside the jazz scene. He plays regularly with local musicians in a variety of musical genres. He is also currently leading some of his own musical projects. He has shared the stage with international musicians such as Martin Zenker and Hein van de Geyn. Khaya was also recently selected for the 2023 National Youth Jazz Band.
Khaya is passionate about jazz while also incorporating different musical styles such as Funk, Blues and Folk to name a few.
"Dylan Fine has emerged as one of South Africa’s most exciting guitarists with a unique sound and musical ability across multiple genres. Graduating from the South African College of Music at UCT in 2018 with a degree in Jazz Performance Dylan has gone on to become a regular fixture around the Cape Town Jazz scene collaborating regularly with his peers and elders. He is noted for his involvement as a guitarist and composer for The Unity Band one of South Africa’s most exciting young jazz collectives, winning ‘Best Newcomer in Jazz’ at the Mzantsi Jazz Awards.
Dylan’s work as jazz musician and session guitarist has seen him travel to Kenya and Zimbabwe along with all of SA’s major festivals and venues and appear on platinum selling records such as Tellaman’s ‘ Whipped’ along with multiple other album apearences. He has worked and recorded with notable South African musicians such as Zoe Modiga, Langa Mavuso, Manana,Tellaman, Nasty C, Rowlene , Maglera Doe Boy and many more . "
