• What do I need to know about the DC to AC invertor on a PV system?  How does a string inverter actually (not) work?  
• What types of batteries are there?  What does DOD (depth of discharge) have to do with the life of a battery?  Go cheap and short term or expensive and long term?
• What other components do I need in a solar system? 
• Do I actually want an off-grid system, a grid tied system or a hybrid system?  What is the difference?

Come and see a small solar installation and then start living your own solar dream.  Visualisation is a very powerful tool.  

Get onto the energy efficiency journey as soon as possible:

• Become energy consumption aware by putting down power and time usage numbers on paper and start understanding your Eskom account.
• The numbers will tell you that changing your electric geyser to a solar geyser is the first no-brainer cost saving thing you can do.
• The second biggest cost saving exercise will be to change your stove (and even your oven) to gas.
• The easiest thing you can do yourself is to change most of your lights to LED lights.
• Start investigating energy efficiency appliances like your dish washer, your washing maching, your tuble dryer and your pool pump.  AAA rating where possible.
• Install solar panels and an AC-DC inverter to generate your own electricity from the sun
• Install batteries to use your own power when the sun in down
