ABOUT

PLEASE NOTE THAT THESE ENTRY TICKETS ARE FOR THE SUNSET COLOUR RUN  (4 KM ROUTE) .

PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS ENTRY FORM IF YOU ARE WANTING TO ENTER THE SPRING SUNSET RUN.

We are proud to introduce the Sunset Colour Run. The Sunset Colour Run follows the format of our popular Sunset Run with the goal to complete the route before the Sun sets.

The Sunset Colour Run is a less distance than the ‘big brother’ original Sunset Run and is 4 km’s. The allocated time is 1 Hour (60 minutes) and the route is 4 km’s. The race starts at 18h19 and ends when the sun sets at 19h19.

You can attempt to complete the route as many times as possible before the sun sets, making it potentially a 4km, 8km or even 12km route. The entry fee includes a “Sunset Run t-shirt”.

What if I want to run and don’t want to get involved in the colour frenzy?
You can then simply participate in the original Sunset Run which starts at the same place and time. For more info click here

Do I need to be seasoned runner to do this event?
No, not at all, there are plenty other events to test your speed and performance! This Sunset Colour Run event is all about beating the sun and included is a colour crazy afternoon with friends and family. You can run, walk, crawl, or cartwheel if you wish!

Can we put together a team of runners?
Pretty simple, you register as a team of 3 or 4 rather than as an individual.  You get to pick a funky and fun team name, anything goes, but just remember it’s a family friendly event.  You then get to run/walk together and “help” each other get really coloured up over the 3 colour kilometers.  No problem if you or your teammates drop back along the way, you can finish as a team or individually.

What is included with my Sunset Colour Run registration?
Runners will receive a custom Sunset Colour Run race shirt, a foldable cup and Sponsor Goodies.  To inquire about Sponsorship openings, email [email protected].  Race Packets will NOT be sent  to you!  You will be emailed about 10 days prior to the race with information on where to pick up your party packets.

What is the inspiration behind The Sunset Colour Run?
The Sunset Colour Run was originally started as a sunset run where you have the opportunity to run and finish before the sun sets over the ocean. We have decided to add to this fun event to create an even more funr experience that is more about health and happiness! The goal is still to beat the sun but also to get very colourful.

Can I run with a jogging stroller and my kids?
We are all about family and fun… so by all means bring your little ones along for a joyride!  We are offering a special rate for children under 16 and those in a pram are free!

Can I run with my dog?
Dogs are allowed as long as they are on a leash and don’t have to be exposed to powder in their nostrils, ears and eyes. Please exercise caution with any animals.

Is there an age limit for younger runners?
No age limits. If they can cover (running, jogging, walking, strolling) the 4kms of The Sunset Colour Run course, they can absolutely do it!

Is there a packet pick up for the event? How does all that work?
Yes. The exact details of this will be posted on our facebook page a week before the race day.

Can someone else pick up my packet for me?
Yes. You'll need to bring a printout of the barcoded ticket for each person you're picking up for or have an electronic version stored on your phone that we can scan.

How strict is the “white clothing dress code” for the start of the event?
We highly recommend you wear the t-shirt we supply you and if not a shirt with as much white as possible to get the full colour effect of your running efforts.  You are welcome to wear team logos or any other logo you see fit.  Shorts/pants don’t have to be white.

How is the colour administered?  Will I be hurt, maimed, or killed?
Ha ha ha! we love this one.  No, it doesn’t hurt at all.  It is like getting into a powdered sugar food fight, just don’t eat the powder, may not be as appealing as your favourite chocolate!!

Will the colour ruin clothes or running shoes?
The “colour” does mostly wash out after the event.  As with anything dirty, the sooner you wash it the better. We suggest wearing items that you wouldn’t mind getting colourful.  If you would like to preserve the colour in your running shirt, spray it with vinegar and iron it.  If you wash your shirt….the colour will eventually come out.  So for practical purposes, either an old t-shirt or one that isn’t your favourite one in the cupboard.

Do the “Colour Zones” situated at every 1km affect runner vision? Or breathing?
The Colour tunnel explosions are basically food grade cornstarch and are 100% natural and SAFE.  As with any substance, you want to keep it out of your eyes and our colour throwers make sure to aim low as you pass by.  You can opt to wear glasses or goggles for your eyes and use a bandana or dust mask for your mouths. In summary: We work pretty hard to make it so our dedicated “Colour Runners” get as much or as little colour on them as they like.

Do you have “cleaning stations” at the finish after party?
We have air blown colour cleaning at the finish line. With a good dusting off, you aren’t 100% clean, but you are totally good for the drive home.  It is actually pretty fun to see people still colored up around town after The Sunset Colour Run event.  Nobody will be guessing what you’ve been up too!!

How does the colour affect the inside of cars?
Bring a couple of towels for the inside of your car, just in case.  Rather protect the seats as opposed to trying to do operation clean up of a rainbow of colours the next morning.

Are cameras and phones safe to have in the colour zones?
If you want to get shots right in the midst of the colour we recommend covering cameras/phones with plastic wrap.
