Bienvenidos and welcome to our Mexican Fiesta cooking class! This evening, we dive into the vibrant world of Mexican cuisine, a celebration of rich flavours, colourful ingredients, and diverse culinary traditions that span centuries. Mexican food is much more than tacos and tequila; it's a complex cuisine that blends indigenous staples with Spanish influences, creating dishes that are as varied as the country's landscapes.
The Class Format:
- Each class highlights a different cuisine/style
- Popular cultural culinary experiences
- Mix of simple & sophisticated dishes
- Classes capped at 2.5 hours
- Cooking stations in pairs - cook & plate together (sharing feast) or individual main + dessert
The Class Structure:
- Two themed canapés & a non-alcoholic welcome drink on arrival
- Hands-on main course preparation from scratch
- Dessert prepared by hosts, plated by guests
- Emphasis on entertainment, education, & connection
- The Class is open to all ages & skill levels

About Your Hosts
Food Jams CASA is a Non Profit Organisation that provides quality, subsidised, internationally accredited education, mentorship and opportunities to marginalised and previously disadvantaged communities. CASA Class of 2024 consists of professional hosts who are well known for their energised social cooking events, called Food Jams in Salt River & Woodstock. All proceeds of this cooking class goes to the sponsorship of the student tuition at the Culinary Academy South Africa, affording our future culinary stars the support on the journey to their stardom! .
And, before we don our aprons, let us share that this class is but one in a series exploring the rich tapestry of world cuisines. Each class is designed to not only introduce you to new flavours and techniques but also to immerse you in the cultural heritage of each cuisine we explore.
