ABOUT

An exquisite program - 'Songs Which Mean Much To Me' - presented by soprano Paulina Malefane with tenor Sipho Fubesi, and accompanied by pianist José Dias.

Paulina burst onto global film screens in 2005 as a passionate, mercurial Carmen in U-Carmen eKhayelitsha, a Xhosa adaptation of Bizet's opera Carmen, set in a Cape Town township. This extraordinary film received the Golden Bear Award at the 2005 Berlin International Film Festival, and Paulina has gone on to perform in theatres around the world as part of the renowned Isango Ensemble.

Together with tenor Sipho Fubesi, who has performed at the Royal Opera House and Glyndebourne, she will perform some of the music she treasures most - sacred songs, arias and opera duets.

Youngblood Gallery provides an inspired space for this spellbinding selection of vocal music which will captivate and enchant.

Parking is available at Heritage Square and in the vicinity of the Gallery.

The Gallery's food and bar area will be open.
